4. Lizzo - Boys (Feat. Justin Timberlake - Sexy Back)

최근에 유튜브로 노래를 듣다가 Lizzo의 Boys란 노래를 듣게 되었다. 노래를 딱 듣는 순간 느낌이 딱 왔다! 와 이거 대박 섹시하다. 노래 자체가 섹시하다. 하이햇과 킥으로만 구성한 미니멀한 비트에 딱 베이스만 얹어서 곡을 처음부터 끝까지 끌고 간다. 베이스가 핵심이다. 음 구성 자체는 되게 단순한데, 사람을 딱 잡아끄는 힘이 있다. 베이스만이 보여줄 수 있는 섹시함이 극한까지 발휘된 것 같다. 아무튼 노래가 되게 섹시하다.

Boys를 딱 듣자마자 이런 섹시한 노래의 시조새격인 Sexy Back이 떠올랐다. 두 곡의 베이스 진행은 상당히 유사하다. Boys가 Sexy Back에서 영감을 받지 않았을까 생각이 든다. 물론 Sexy Back은 조금 더 신디음이 강하고 사운드를 채운 느낌이라면, Boys는 훨씬 미니멀하고 복고적인 사운드이긴 하다. 하지만, 곡의 핵심이 되는 테마는 너무나도 닮아있다. 

세션은 클린하게 가는데 Lizzo 목소리는 끈적거려서, 그 대비도 곡을 풍성하게 만드는 요소가 된다. 중독성이 있다. 오늘 헬스할 때는 계속 Boys만 반복해서 들었다. 사무실을 박차고 나갈 때부터 발걸음이 경쾌해지더니 스콰트할 때는 심박수를 업시켜준다. 섹시함을 충전하고 싶을 때는 Lizzo 노래를 들어보자. 나도 모르게 스텝을 밟을 수 있다.
